Final Renegades Line Up

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

With the tourny soon approaching, the Renegades have completed all contract negotiations and have assembled their final line up. Player details and descriptions to come.

Player Position Class Height Weight High-Lites
Ryan $laney (A) F 2000 5′6″ 170 Undoubtely the player with the highest strength to height ratio in the tournament, little Slaney will be key as part of the checking line designed to shut down the opposing offence.

Bren Matheson C F 2000 6′3″ 175 His stickly figure often has people mistaking him for a ringette player, however this works to his advantage as he slips through the poles in the fence gate with out having to actually take the time to open it which makes for speedier line changes.

Regan Isenor (A) D 2000 6′4″ 210 Regan has been fighting a severe weight problem in recent months but looks to use this bulk patroling the blue line. Rumor has it this is a strategy to keep up with the heavier and slower outlaws.

Tony Macarthy F 2002 6′4″ 190 The rangy forward spent time with the Halifax Macdonalds where he was praised for his offensive skills.

Justin Melnyk F 2002 6′ 175 Brings youthful energy in combination with great hands and footwork. Also recently left the Young Guns for a team with potential. A a former Cheetah.

Jerry Mitchell F 2002 5′10″ 175 Jerry was the last to be chosen for the 2005 roster and we as a team feel that jerry has got that final rung of the ladder needed to climb to a championship. Jerry’s fast hands combined with his seemingly effortless ability to see the entire ice and make those crucial plays at the most important of times is something that any team should long for. Jerry is built like an midget ogre with a heart big enough to alone carry this team to the finals and further.

Jason Matheson D 1998 6′3″ 185 A new addition to the regegades. A solid, stay at home defensemen with years of experience. As an older member of the squad, we look for jason to take on a leadership role. He will be looking for revenge after being attacked by worried competitiors ( we suspect the Generals) on halloween.

Greg Slaney F 1998 5′8″ 200 The older half of the “Hatchers” plays a similar game to that of Tie Domi with less razzle dazzle.

Matt Butler F 1998 6′ 190 Another pick up for the renegades. Matt had an illustrious career with CPA but left this all behind to drink scotch and eat haggis in Scotland. Matt will be back in Canada the day before the tourney anxious to prove he still has what it takes. We will look to butlers scoring ability to take us deep into the tournament.

Guff Thompson G 2002 5′8″ 180 Arguable the most experienced and technically sound road hockey goalie to ever barely graduate from CPA, Guff will be the deciding factor in the championship game.

Jerell Smith BW/WB/F 2000 6′ 190 Jerell will use his well equipped ass to warm the bench and distribute H20 during the Renegade’s intense games. Occasionaly he might be called upon to fill in on forward when our power forwards need a break from scoring so much.

Jimmy Cross F 1998 5′8″ 170 Playing in the tournament for the first time, Jimmy’s tireless work ethic and grittyness will be a huge asset to the Renegade’s forward line up.

New deal.

The renegades signed last year’s scoring leader Tony Macarthy over the holiday weekend. If his perforance last year is anything to go by, Tony will be ripping up the court and a solid candidate for the MVP.

2005 Road Hockey Tournament Rules

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

Fellas,

Thank You for those who showed up last evening and contributed their 2 cents. I now am confident this year’s tourney will be that much better than last years. I have listed below some important rules and dates we decided on. All money not in on time results in your team forfeiting their games. All rules must be abided by or your team cannot play in the tourney. I will be e-mailing many of you who stepped up and took on certain tasks to make the tourney run smoothly. As far as the money goes, I am open to suggestions for programs to donate the cash left after budget. If we don’t find somewhere new, the Metro Food Bank Im sure will appreciate the cash again. In the meantime pass it along to your teams to come up with sponsors/prizes for the event and afterparty. See List Below………….

Many Thanks,

Mike McPherson

Renegades roster update.

Friday, September 30th, 2005

The Renegades have signed netminder Guff Thompson and power forward Justin Melnyk to their 2005 line up. Pegged as one as the best road hockey goalies to ever graduate from CPA, Guff is poised to be the solid base on which the Renegades will build their championship season. Melnyk’s bad ass emcee skills and endurance will be called upon in the renegade’s tuff battle to the championship game. As per team policy, terms of the contracts were not made public.

Also, players currently in negotiations:
Tony Macarthy

Mike Truzak
